Privacy policy

In short: the extension shows you the tracking requests websites send, and keeps what it sees on your computer. It has no server and sends nothing to anyone. This website has no cookies, analytics or third-party requests either.

Universal Pixel Debugger is a Chrome extension for debugging website tracking. It shows the advertising and analytics requests that the website in your current tab sends, and decodes the events in them.

What the extension handles

While you use it, the extension reads the following in your browser:

• Tracking requests that pages send to advertising and analytics networks (for example Meta, Google Analytics, TikTok), with their parameters. These can contain identifiers that the website itself sends to those networks, such as hashed email addresses, click IDs or customer IDs.
• The addresses (URLs) and titles of pages you visit in a tab you are inspecting.
• Signals on those pages that identify the website platform, loaded tracking scripts, consent commands and data layer entries.

Where it is kept

Everything stays on your computer:

• Live captures are kept in Chrome's session storage and are cleared when Chrome closes. Up to eight recently used tabs are kept; older ones are removed.
• Saved recordings are kept in the extension's local database (IndexedDB) until you delete them.
• Exports (JSON, Markdown or copied text) are created only when you ask for them, and go where you save or paste them.

What it does not do

• It does not send any data to the developer or to anyone else. It has no server, analytics, advertising or tracking of its own.
• It does not sell or share data, or use it for anything other than showing it to you.
• It never blocks, changes or re-sends a website's requests. It only observes them.
• It loads no remote code. All code, fonts and icons are part of the installed extension.

Feedback page

When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a feedback page on pixeldebugger.com; Send feedback in the extension's menu opens the same page. The page address carries only the extension version and whether you came from the menu or from removing it. Answering is optional: the form is hosted by Tally (tally.so), and nothing is sent until you submit it.

Your control

• Clear removes a tab's capture.
• Saved recordings can be deleted from the Saved recordings list.
• Uninstalling the extension removes all of its stored data.

Captured values are shown exactly as sent, without redaction. Keep that in mind before you share an export or a recording.

This website

pixeldebugger.com sets no cookies and loads nothing from other servers: its fonts and images are served from this site. The event board on the home page is simulated in your browser and sends nothing.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
